Digital HF Receivers features digital signal
processing (DSP) technology to provide remotely
controllable premium performance, convenience, and
flexibility while minimizing cost and maintenance. Performance is outstanding. High dynamic range is achieved with electronically switched preselector filters; high-dynamic range RF front end; a low-noise, fast-tuning synthesizer; digital gain control; and 32-bit DSP. It is easy to use. All functions are controlled via a unique Virtual Control Panel (VCP) displayed on a Windowsฎ-based screen, with hot keys for ali major functions. (The Power On/Off switch is the only front-panel hardware). The graphical user interface can be customized for unique data display requirements. It is easy to maintain. Comprehensive Built-In Test Equipment (BITE/BIT), rugged modular design, and conservative circuitry assure long, trouble-free operation and ease of maintenance. It is versatile and cost effective. One computer can control up to 3 l receivers via a single RS-485 port; a computer with multiple RS-485 or RS-232 ports can control multiple banks of receivers. Model 8174 holds one receiver and is only 1U high: Model 8074 holds up to 4 receivers; both models fit standard 19-inch racks. An optional second digital signal processor permits many function-enhancing options, including pan adapter display, data demodulation, signal parameter measurement, and frequency tracking. |
