High Frequency Transducer

The TR-233 high frequency transducer has a horizontal, Omni-directional beam pattern formed using piezoelectric ceramic elements.

A typical AN/WQC-2A installation utilizes as many as three high frequency transducers which are switch-selectable and can be placed throughout the vessel.

Low Frequency Transducer

Standard

The TR-232-B is a high-powered, low frequency transducer of piezoelectric design with a horizontal (radial), Omni-directional beam pattern.

Electro-mechanical energy conversion is achieved using piezoelectric ceramic elements which are totally encapsulated and covered by acoustically transparent neoprene boot.

Improved

A Mk 700 transducer is available as an option in place of the TR-232-B transducer. The MK 700 meets or exceeds all TR-232-B technical specifications and performance requirements, and provides several other advantages.

The MK 700 has an increased depth rating to depths in excess of one kilometer. it operates at higher sustained CW source levels, and features enhanced structural integrity and reliability to minimize repair costs and lengthen replacement life cycles.

The Mk 700 has passed U.S. Navy-certified operational and compatibility testing related to the AN/WQC-2A Sonar Set and meets explosive shock test requirements.
