MIO ATMOSPHERIC LIDAR

Light Detection and Ranging or LIDAR is a laser dased technique that allows remote measurement of the chemical and physical properties of the atmosphere. Applications of lidar are as diverse as air pollution monitoring, meteorology, and chemical weapons defense. CARAVAN can build specialized lidar systems to remotely map:

  • Airborne particulates
  • Visibility
  • Water vapor
  • Temperature
  • Wind speed and direction
  • Trace chemical species: O3, CO2, SO2, HG, industrial effluents

MIO LIDAR for Airborne Particulate Profiling

The M10 LIDAR, ERIM International's standard particulte profiling system, is ideal for mapping airborne fine particulate matter for PM2.5 and PM10 compliance. The M10 is also well-suited for measuring:

  • Distribution of particulate plumes
  • Visibility
  • Boundary layer mixing height
  • Cloud base height
  • Optical properties of cirrus clouds
